Nicholls and Clarke have worked alongside the University of Brighton and Brighton and Hove City Council on the Preston Barracks regeneration project. This development transforms Georgian army barracks and two adjacent university car parks into a brand-new university campus and mixed-use neighbourhood. This regeneration project is designed to create over 1,300 student bedrooms, and 360 homes with a medical centre, pharmacy, academic buildings, shops, cafes, and sports and recreation facilities. The large development aims to create an interactive community encouraging students to engage with the city and vice versa.
Various N&C tile ranges were used throughout the student accommodation, residential, and commercial zones - including Studio, Garda, Surface, Ikon Plain Colours and Up. Additionally, as part of the total solution, Nicobond Rapidflex adhesive was supplied due to its versatile bonding properties for both interior and exterior use. To ensure the project was finished to a high standard, Nicobond Grout Pro Flexible was also used throughout.
